Weird policy about the id straps...does it have to necessarily be UST id straps even if the ID is the UST student id? Oh well. The building is a good place to relocate the various student orgs, and the enrollment procedures flow smoothly here...guess the id thing is my only complaint really

Where I took my summer clases for Algebra, Filipino literature in English (weird huh?) and Filipino 102...the profs were great, especially Ma'am Concepcion! You rock! Our prof for SCL-RUS (Social Problems etc) was also from the AB faculty. He made the subject more meaningful. Thanks! And the AB students are also good people, very opinionated and vocal about their beliefs (from my experience)

Seeing the COOP building makes me miss it...used to buy stationery paper for my collection there. Plus used to hang out in the COOP during breaks when I was still a freshette...*sigh*
Is the fountain where the old fishpond used to be?
Then there's also the lack of the stalls during August-September that used to sell various stuff...oh well

Where I sometimes go to just chill. The sound of the fountain is rather calming...though when it was just being set up, the fountain used to sound a lot like something exploding (or a gun shot even)..thankfully it's now nice and peaceful. There are still practice sessions here for cheer dances, group presentations and the like...and of course there is the occasional shooting for a tv soap or commercial ^^ Plus the park also doubles as a venue site.

I used to frequent this place because of my chronic tonsilitis and other throat problems. This is where my doctor/ENT schedules our consultations. He's Dr. Mon Belmonte by the way. Well that and this is usually the place where any other hospital emergencies my family experiences get referred to, when we still lived nearby...
The coffee shop near the entrance always emanates with the delicious smell of coffee...too bad the prices are rather steep...

I usually frequented the internet/computer stations (I knew where each one was on almost every floor), and the Science section of course, especially for reviews and when I had to write laboratory report papers and the like. During first year, it was interesting to look through the Humanities and Religion departments, there were some fascinating books there. The Filipiniana section yielded interesting and helpful books for my search in related literature for my thesis as well.
The Reader's Cafe had good offerings, though the prices were steep. The photocopying services were also helpful.
I wish the computers used to look through the LORENZO system and EBSCO system were increased though. There were times I had to wait for more than an hour until I was able to sit down and use one unit, only to find that the system was down or experiencing errors.
How often are the book catalogues updated? Sometimes it says that the book is available but when I go look for it, I find out that someone has already checked-out the book...

Where I usually sit down to read my books or wait for my friends to pass by on our way to TARC...well there's also the fountain just a few steps away from the 2nd Dapitan gate, but this is where I choose to sit most of the time, because I can see the interactive fountain across the street from my vantage point and all. The hallway/walkway is also where the HS students put up their booths for their foodfest/school fair ^^
The cafeteria has some pretty neat picks for lunch fare too. I particularly like their cheesecake slices for dessert.
Also somewhat behind this building are the laboratories...

Well the only time I ever went to the health service was when my chronic tonsilitis acted up and caused me extreme pain. They only gave me painkillers though...
I decided to just go to my ENT over at USTH for a more permanent fix (no, I didn't opt for tonsilectomy though)

Well interesting idea about making the main building into a museum. I would love to see more of the museum's collection myself, actually. Those in display though need to be maintained more dutifully. The last time I came to visit, some of the stuffed animals in display (the large St.Bernard dog, and the tiger, tamaraw/carabao) were gathering dust...
I like the fact that they also allow students to play on the piano on the second floor...

Well being that I was an irregular student >.> Not all of my classes were at the main building, even though my course major was under Science. Still, I must admit that the building is indeed a testament to ingenious engineering, I've never felt earthquakes while taking my laboratory subjects on the fourth floor. The "Virtues" are also interesting motifs to the overall design.
There are rumors of ghosts and the like, but I don't really believe in them because I've never seen any in all my years of being a student here (and there was a time while waiting for our bus for a school trip, my batchmates and I managed to remain in the building until past 12am...maybe even 3am? and still no ghosts) I attribute the stories to the building's long history.

This has so much potential for improvements. Saying that though, I find that as it is, it's a good place to relax too, especially the swing (when, by some miracle, no one is using/sitting)...I remember my rushed yet colorful sketches of the plants here for Botany...
There's also the doves or "white pigeons"...aka "Asthma" to one of my batchmates ^^'
And there are the butterflies present in one of the enclosures. There are turtles too in the pond, and of course the monkeys >.>' (they get a little rowdy at times)
I like the enclosure with the ferns myself though. I dunno why, but I just do

Oh, I forgot to mention, this is where I took my Fitness (where you learn how to compute for calories and carbs, and lug around dumbbells) and Social Dance classes. Social Dance class was great. Nice jazz pants to go along with the uniform (the top sort of looks like bowling shirts though, as our professor said/noted ^^') and because it was dance class, you get to wear high heels hehe.
